Tekirdag is considered one of the most important Turkish cities, and it is of strategic importance due to its geographical location, as it is the gateway between Anatolia and the Balkans. It was built in 1927 as the Governor’s Palace. The stone building, which was one of the first buildings of the Republican period sold to the Ministry of Culture by the Special Provincial Administration in 1977, was later restored to its original form and converted into a museum. 14,051 artifacts have been found in the Tekirdag region from prehistoric times to the present day, of which 1,066 are on display in the exhibition hall.<\/p>\n
