What is a tourist residence in Turkey?

Tourist residence in Turkey is a document granted by the Turkish Ministry of Interior to foreigners coming for tourism or others and grants its holder the validity of residence in Turkey for the duration of its validity and also allows entry to Turkey without papers or other required procedures such as a visa, etc., in order to encourage foreigners to tourism, investment and search for job opportunities, without it The investor or tourist will have to issue a long-term visa or leave and come back again.

Conditions for obtaining a tourist residence permit in Turkey?

  • The applicant must not have entered Turkey with a commercial visa.

What are the documents required to obtain a tourist residence permit?

Steps for obtaining a tourist residence permit in Turkey:

  • Prepare all previous papers
  • Book an interview appointment, at the link https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/ikamet/omjayit
  • Go to the appointment on the specified date and place.
  • During the interview, the applicant must attend himself, and a special translator can be requested in case he does not know the Turkish language.
  • After completing the interview and accepting the application, the fees must be paid to the treasury.
  • The applicant is given a document with which he can move until the tourist residence card is issued.
  • The residency is issued within a maximum of 60 days, and it may be issued after a few days.
  • Then it is sent to the applicant’s address or received by the municipality’s mail from the PPT.

Some heads-up to know:

  • It is not possible to obtain a tourist residence permit in Turkey if it exceeds the legal period of the person’s presence in Turkey
  • Sometimes it is required that the applicant be inside Turkey when preparing his file.
  • If you do not complete your papers, you may be given a 30-day opportunity to complete them, and if the applicant does not complete the incomplete papers, the application will be rejected.
  • The passport must be valid for 60 days longer than the period of stay,
