Get to know Esenyurt
In the beginning, let’s learn the geographical location of the area in relation to the city of Istanbul, where the area is located in the western part of the city between Avcilar districts from the south, Beylikdüzü from the west, Basaksehir from the north and Kucukcekmece Lake from the east,
Esenyurt is also located between the two main roads TEM and E5 extending from east to west in Istanbul.
At the beginning of the ninth century, the area was called Akşınoz, in reference to Esenyurt Akşınosgıller, one of the largest landowners in the region, since 1967.
Today it became Esenyurt after witnessing great periods of migration, the first from the countries of Bulgaria, Romania and Anatolia cities during the twenties of the last century, and the second in the last two decades of the nineteenth century and during the period of the great earthquake that struck Istanbul, which led to a large migration movement of the inhabitants of the old city of Istanbul (Fateh, Taksim, Zeytinburnu) to the modern western regions such as Esenyurt
Which led to a great movement and development in the urban and service sector, and with the increase in the flow of population to the region and the expansion of the urban area in it, the successive municipalities in the region began to focus on the service sector and the construction of roads, service centers and various facilities, in addition to providing housing and facilitating obtaining building and construction permits.
The area of Esenyurt is 2,770 hectares, and the area consists of several neighborhoods, the most famous of which are (Ardişli, Firuzkoy, Bahcesehir), and according to statistics in 2018, the population reached 891,120 people, after the population was estimated in 2008, i.e. ten years ago, with 373,017 people only, an increase of 238.8%, where males made 51.3% and females 48.7%, married people 66% of the total population, and single people 34%, and according to the latest statistics of the Directorate of Registry in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul, the percentage of children under the age of eighteen is 36.2% and young people under the age of fifty-five, 55.3% and those aged 55 and over reached 8.5%.
The Esenyurt area includes many commercial centers such as (Marmara Park, Torium Mall), and cultural, service and entertainment centers such as (National Cultural Center, Municipal Sports Center), and many gardens and parks have been established that include sessions, cafes, gardens for children and barbecue places such as (Martyrs Park, Erdogan’s garden
In addition to the presence of more than one public and private university in the region, such as Esenyurt University, Istanbul University, and the European Medical University, with a large number of schools for all stages.
Esenyurt is a relatively remote area from the city center, so the transportation network is a very important thing
Therefore, the municipalities focused on connecting Esenyurt with all the surrounding areas and the city center as well.
There are government bus lines connecting Avcilar, Bakirkoy, Fatih, Taksim … and buses that connect the Esenyurt area to each other, in addition to the metrobus line linking east and west Istanbul, and a plan was drawn up to establish a metro line that is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
Due to the development and modernization movement carried out by the municipality of Esenyurt and the interest of local and foreign investors in the region, the region witnessed a significant increase in real estate prices, which led to a high percentage of those wishing to reside in the region and live in it. The average price per square meter in 2011 was 1,800 Turkish liras, and the average in 2018 is 4530 Turkish liras.
Recent years have witnessed a large movement of foreign buying real estate, which led to the formation of a large foreign community in the region, and this led to the opening of many foreign restaurants, cafes and shops of all kinds.
The region became a center for foreign , and with the presence of foreign clinics, hospitals and schools, life became easier for those who do not speak Turkish.
