The establishment of the city began in 2016 within the framework of the health development program and was called “Ikitelli City Hospital” with an area of approximately one million square meters in the Basaksehir district, west of Istanbul, and nearly 6000 workers from various sectors of engineering, construction, guidance and others participated in its construction.
Basaksehir is the largest medical city in Turkey, with a capacity to serve 32,700 patients and a daily referral, and is equipped with 2,640 beds. It is the largest earthquake-resistant medical institution in the world. It has been equipped with 2,040 seismic insulators with very high efficiency and specifications in the face of destructive earthquakes.

Basaksehir Medical City is connected to a transportation network far from congestion, located on the TEM highway, and directly connected to Istanbul Airport and Istanbul Water Canal through a network of rapid transit lines.
