Besiktas… the oldest area of Istanbul
Besiktas, which means “the stone of the cradle” in Turkish, is undoubtedly one of the oldest and most important historical districts of Istanbul, which is favored to locals and foreigners and is known as a cultural and artistic center.

In particular, during the reign of Sultan Abdul Hamid II between (1876-1909), it took the form of a “holy city”, and was under heavy guard and bore the name of the Besiktas Police Brigade or Besiktas Guards as it was called among the people.
Today, the area still enjoys an important place in the city, as it contains the most important tourist places in Istanbul and is considered one of the most important tourist attractions in Turkey, especially given its location opposite the Bosphorus Strait.
